The “Blast” Behind Jerky Eyes

چکیده
Abstract Opsoclonus is defined as hyperkinetic, omnidirectional, spontaneous, and involuntary chaotic eye movements. Opsoclonus-myoclonus-ataxia syndrome addressed by many names including “dancing eyes-dancing feet syndrome,” “Kinsbourne “infantile polymyoclonia.” The early accounts of the clinical date back to 1962 when Marcel Kinsbourne described six cases this phenotype. However, it was not until 1968 association with occult neuroblastoma first reported. We report video a 1-year-old boy who presented for duration 3 months. He diagnosed have an abdominal treated resection tumor administration intramuscular adrenocorticotropic hormone. showed complete resolution symptoms. difficult recognize might be confused seizures, tremors, or chorea; hence, important that residents learnt look underlying actively.

What's Behind Blast
The BLAST search engine was published and released in 1990. It is a heuristic that uses the idea of a neighborhood to find seed matches that are then extended. This approach came from work that this author was doing to lever these ideas to arrive at a deterministic algorithm with a characterized and superior time complexity. The resulting O(enlogn) expected-time algorithm for finding all e-matc...
متن کاملAn Empirical Model for the Ignition of Aluminum Particle Clouds Behind Blast Waves
An empirical model for the ignition of aluminum particle clouds is developed and applied to the study of particle ignition and combustion behavior resulting from explosive blast waves. This model incorporates both particle ignition time delay as well as cloud concentration effects on ignition. The total mass of aluminum that burns is found to depend on the model, with shorter ignition delay tim...
متن کاملJerky driving--An indicator of accident proneness?
This study uses continuously logged driving data from 166 private cars to derive the level of jerks caused by the drivers during everyday driving. The number of critical jerks found in the data is analysed and compared with the self-reported accident involvement of the drivers. The results show that the expected number of accidents for a driver increases with the number of critical jerks caused...
متن کاملJerky Periods: Myoclonus Occurring Solely During Menses
BACKGROUND In this case report, we describe an unusual case of a patient with myoclonus only occurring during menses. CASE REPORT A 41-year-old female, known to have neurological sequelae after a car accident 1 year earlier, presented with myoclonic movements of the right arm and hand only during menses. Brain magnetic resonance imaging is compatible with head trauma. Electromyography shows b...
متن کاملJerky dystonic shoulder following infarction of the posterior thalamus
The syndrome of the jerky dystonic hand is recognized as a consequence of infarction of the posterior thalamus. A patient with multiple risk factors for stroke developed jerky dystonia of more proximal involvement, affecting the shoulder and speech, several months after a stroke affecting the posterior thalamic region. The cause for the proximal, rather than distal, upper limb involvement, is u...
